Hestercombe House, Taunton, Somerset - Autumn

Hestercombe House and garden is in a valley north of Taunton in Somerset, UK, and has been the site of a grand country home for at least 800 years. The house has been through many evolutions over the centuries, but Hestercombe is best known for its 18th century landscape garden, and the formal garden created by Gertrude Jekyll and Edwin Lutyens in the early 20th Century. The house and garden had a rather chequered existence during the second half of the 20th century, but they are now slowly returning to their former glory.
